Introduction

Having been a member of the Red Dragon for fifty years, I have heard various portions of the club's history but never many details. Ingo Stephan and George Rhawn, both members of the Beverly Yacht Club before the Dragon moved here invited me over to hear them tell some of the history that they remambered.

The recent pandemic of Wuhan Flu has given me a good excuse to see what I could find. I am releasing this to the public, but it is far from complete, and I will be adding new items for probably the next few months. This project is dedicated to the honor, and in far too many cases, the memory of the many friends Sally and I have made over the past half century at the Dragon. This peoject is dedicated to the honor, and in far too many cases, the memory of the many friends Sally and I have made over the past half century at the Dragon. This peoject is dedicated to the honor, and in far too many cases, the memory of the many friends Sally and I have made over the past half century at the Dragon.

While there is a lot of information contained here, I am still adding many more items, so I will keep an update history on the home page.

All news articles are taken verbatim from the clippings, although I have edited out some of the more irrelevant parts

The Dragon is always looking for new members, especially sailors. Our Rear Commodore and the other officers are striving to bring more active sailing back to the club. So, whether want to race, or just need a convenient place to store and/or race your saiboat (no powerboats) the Dragon, located on 6+/- acres and the beautiful clubhouse known as the "Shipman Mansion" is the ideal place. We also have a thriving social membership with concerts in the summer, canoe trips, and many other fun things.

For membership info, my email is jcp@comcast.net I will direct you to the membership committee.

Thank you, Jack Perkins
